We make health happen

At Bupa, we provide support when it's needed most, and our Richmond Villages Cheltenham offer luxury retirement living, an aspirational lifestyle for our residents, and our top‑tier accommodation is matched by superior service. We provide person‑centred care that supports independence and respects individual choice, enabling our residents to lead their best lives. We take pride in our  review score of 9.9 out of 10.

To live within our villages isn't just about being cared for, it's about giving people a quality of life - and that's especially true of the role of our Activity Co‑ordinators. As an Activity Co‑ordinator, you'll help us make a difference to our residents, ensuring they get the mental and physical stimulation that they need to remain healthy, fulfilled, and happy - and you'll have so much fun along the way.

We tailor our residents activities plan, so one day you could be helping put on musical acts, or days out, the next you could be putting on exercise classes, hosting an arts and crafts afternoon or maybe something completely different (organising birthday surprises for our residents is always a favourite).

You'll help us make health happen by
  • Identifying engaging activities for our residents through careful assessment, observation, and conversation, while keeping precise records.
  • Connecting with residents, their families, friends, and colleagues to gain a deep understanding of each resident's interests, abilities, and challenges, fostering active participation.
  • Supporting the Head of Activities in orchestrating special events like garden parties, concerts, and excursions, mindful of the budget and meticulous in financial tracking.
  • Aiding residents in personal tasks such as letter writing, shopping, and reading, and encouraging them to engage in their individual hobbies.
  • Regularly refreshing and promoting the activities program within the village and the local community.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
  • Previous experience organising events, especially with the elderly and/or vulnerable.
  • Positive attitude and energetic, humorous nature.
  • Empathy and friendliness, with ability to forge enduring relationships with colleagues, residents, families, and the local community.
Benefits
  • My Healthcare – quick, easy access to support, advice, and treatment for a variety of health‑related issues, including remote GP, physiotherapy, and mental health support - all available from one phone number 24/7.
  • Annual allowance redeemable against a menu of Bupa healthcare products, approx. value £350.
  • Free meal with every shift.
  • 28 days holiday.
  • Long Service rewards – ecards, extra holidays and money.
  • Interest‑free annual travel loan for public transport season tickets.
  • Wagestream – early access up to 40% of earned wages.
  • Competitive pension plans and parental leave options, plus access to unique products such as our Menopause plan.
  • My Bupa Extras – discounts at favourite retailers, tools, content and information to support wellbeing.
  • Additional sick pay scheme above statutory sick pay.
