Job Summary
Senior Supply Chain Engineer at Kohler Mira Ltd., Cheltenham.
Salary up to £50K plus company bonuses, a comprehensive benefits package, and flexibility to work onsite or remote.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and improve supply chain material flow, intra‑logistics, conveyance processes, layouts, and systems.
- Develop and drive the Continuous Improvement Strategy using Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, Error Proofing, Flow, Pull, TPM, VSM, Kaizen, Problem Solving, Management) to meet or exceed facility efficiency and cost goals.
- Support day‑to‑day supply chain operations and quality by using BOMs, demand requirements, and engineering specifications to ensure correct time, quantity, quality, and delivery of parts at each workstation and assembly stage.
- Develop and maintain PFEP for all components and purchased parts.
- Analyse, define, design, and optimise routing for every part to minimise delays, disruption, and waste.
- Design, implement, and maintain material flow within the facility, troubleshooting shortages or bottlenecks and applying Continuous Improvement and Lean approaches.
- Collaborate with plant teams to define optimal material flow and layouts, ensuring assembly line feeding on time.
- Design warehousing solutions, supermarket delivery, Kanban, smart buffers, and advanced material storage or replenishment solutions for Lean material storage, put‑away, and picking processes.
- Improve end‑to‑end material flow using lean principles and business excellence tools.
- Identify and improve cost/waste reduction opportunities through CI and Lean approaches.
- Support and drive lean supply chain initiatives.
- Minimum of 4 years’ hand‑on Supply Chain Engineering, Material Flow, continuous improvement, and PFEP experience.
- Expertise in SAP for Logistics and Materials (SAP MM, SAP WM/EWM).
- Ability to design material routes, supermarket, min‑max, and other Lean manufacturing material flow solutions.
- Ability to conduct end‑user training.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and techniques for maximizing manufacturing, material flow, and distribution.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and process improvement mindset.
- Energy, drive, enthusiasm, and determination.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, operations, and supply chain functions.
- Proficient data analysis and presentation skills.
- Project management methodologies (DMAIC, Lean tools).
