Machine Setter / Operator
Late shift:
Monday - Thursday 2pm - 11:30pm
We are looking for a Machine Setter/Operator to join the team on Early shift 38 hours a week, to set and operate CNC machine centres, lathes, and mill turns.
Your Objectives and Responsibilities- Set computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathes.
- Produce parts to drawing, deburr, clean, and package parts following set procedures.
- Ensure excellent quality by inspecting parts using measuring equipment such as gauges, verniers, and micrometers.
- Work to standard operating procedures (SOPs), production rates, workplace organisation, front line operator asset care (FLOAC), maintenance, and cleanliness of machine equipment.
- Understand and comply with company environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices, identifying areas for improvement and supporting related initiatives.
- Understand and comply with the company’s core values.
- Engage, suggest, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects as required.
- Be flexible to complete other duties when required, including but not limited to the training of others.
- Develop and drive your own personal development plan.
- Basic CNC setting and operating experience.
- Basic experience with measuring equipment.
- Basic engineering drawing competency.
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent in manufacturing.
- Basic programme reading skills.
- Experience of working in a production environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding of commercial impact on the department.
- Ability to read and understand CNC program.
- Ability to conduct prove outs safely.
- Demonstrate company core values at all times.
- Work to daily plans and tasks using numeracy and literacy skills.
- Follow instructions while working to a high attention to detail, maintaining high levels of quality.
- Aspire to learn and develop in the role.
- Be proactive with a flexible approach.
- Work as part of a team and independently as required.
