Job Summary  We are seeking an experienced Postgre

SQL DBA Lead to own the design, performance, availability, and security of Postgre

SQL databases across mission-critical systems. This role involves hands-on database administration, technical leadership, and collaboration with application, Dev Ops, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities   Database Administration & Operations
Lead installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching of Postgre

SQL databases (on-prem & cloud).
Ensure high availability using replication, clustering, and failover solutions (Streaming Replication, Patroni, etc.).
Design and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
Perform capacity planning and proactive performance tuning.
Performance & Reliability
Monitor database health, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas.
Ensure SLAs for uptime, latency, and throughput are met.
Handle complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis (RCA).
Security & Compliance
Implement database security best practices (roles, privileges, encryption, auditing).
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Manage data access controls and vulnerability remediation.
Automation & Dev Ops Integration
Drive automation using scripting (Shell, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Collaborate with Dev Ops teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments.
Manage Postgre

SQL on cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure, GCP).
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and review work of DBA team members.
Define database standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.
Partner with architects, developers, and product teams on data design decisions.
Required Skills & Experience   Technical Skills
4–7 years of database experience with at least 3+ years in Postgre

SQL administration.
Strong knowledge of Postgre

SQL internals, indexing, query optimization, and VACUUM strategies.

Experience with HA/DR solutions (Streaming Replication, Patroni, PgBouncer).
Hands-on experience with cloud-managed Postgre

SQL services.
Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills.
Scripting experience (Shell, Python).
Leadership & Soft Skills
Proven experience leading or mentoring DBAs or technical teams.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Good to Have

Experience with other databases (MySQL, Oracle, Mongo

DB).
Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized database deployments.
Postgre

SQL or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
