About the Role
6S Consulting is seeking a Senior Workday Payroll & Integration Architect to lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a secure, controlled Direct Deposit change process.
Service Now HR Service Delivery (HRSD) will act as the employee-facing portal and orchestration layer. In this role, you will own the Workday Payroll control framework, design bank pre-note processing, and architect secure integrations between Service Now HRSD, Workday, and external banking systems.
This position requires a strong architectural and operational mindset, with a focus on security, auditability, compliance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end solution design across Service Now HRSD → Workday Payroll → Banking systems → Service Now
Define and configure Workday Payroll components including payment elections, holds, and business process framework rules
Design and implement custom fields and status tracking for validation states, effective dates, case references, and reason codes
Own bank pre-note batch processing, including scheduling, file generation, response parsing, and reconciliation
Define integration patterns and field mappings between Service Now and Workday, including bank detail updates and status synchronization
Collaborate with Service Now teams to align HRSD workflows, approvals, automation, and audit evidence with Workday controls
Design the security model covering service accounts, least-privilege access, token handling, and audit logging
Define error handling and recovery mechanisms, including retries, exception paths, and break-glass procedures
Support system testing, UAT, and go-live readiness
Produce design documentation, integration specifications, acceptance criteria, and operational runbooks
Key Deliverables
Workday Payroll configured to activate Direct Deposit only after validated outcomes
Alignment between Service Now HRSD workflow states and Workday validation statuses
Validated bank pre-note file generation and response handling
Secure, monitored integration specifications and field mappings
Complete audit evidence and operational documentation for ongoing support
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience (bank accounts, payment elections)
Expertise in business process controls (holds, approvals, security roles, condition rules)
Proven experience with Direct Deposit controls and validation patterns
Solid understanding of bank file processing and pre-note batch concepts
Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Workday Studio, API-based patterns)
Proven experience integrating Workday with workflow platforms using REST APIs
Ability to lead design workshops and guide delivery teams
Strong operational mindset focused on monitoring, supportability, and audit readiness
Experience working with Service Now HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
Nice to Have
Experience with secure file exchange (SFTP, PGP encryption)
Background in regulated industries with high audit and control requirements
Architecture experience defining non-functional requirements and scalable guardrails
