Job Type
  • Part time - 24 hours per week
  • Day Shifts
Required Qualifications
  • Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Experience working in a kitchen.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety preferable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation - Planning and preparing nutritious and balanced meals, catering to individual dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, dysphagia, cultural or religious preferences).
  • Food Safety and Hygiene - Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food hygiene regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Stock Management - Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
  • Supervision - Overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Communication - Interacting with residents, care staff, and other kitchen personnel to ensure smooth service and meet individual needs.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting any issues.
Essential Skills and Qualities
  • Culinary Skills - Experience in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, with knowledge of special dietary needs.
  • Food Safety Knowledge - Understanding of food hygiene regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Organizational Skills - Ability to manage stock, plan menus, and supervise staff.
  • Communication

    Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and suppliers.
  • Teamwork:
    Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
