Specimen Processing & LIMS Data Entry Specialist

Responsibilities

• Collect incoming deliveries from pathology reception
• Unpack, check and label gynaecological specimens
• Enter specimen data into the Enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Meet hourly productivity targets for specimen processing
• Assist in the HPV sorting room: check request forms, match slides, scan documents into the DART database
• Locate and enter data for investigations and the rejects team
• Number samples and place specimen containers in processing racks
• Separate samples received in error for different departments
• Look up and print patient history on the CSMS system
• Identify and report non-conformities to senior staff
• Adhere to BSPS health and safety procedures, laboratory codes of practice, and departmental SOPs
• Assist with training of new staff
