Management Accountant. Tech. Full Time. Hybrid (Chesham/Remote). Up to £52K.

The RoleManage all financial processes efficiently and effectively.
Ensure best practice financial control across all company activities. Produce financial reports that meet management and statutory requirements. Be an active member of the management team tasked with growing the business. Support all statutory filing requirements for the company.
Reporting to the Company Owner and Fractional FD, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all ledgers are maintained properly.
- Being the systems administrator for finance applications.
- Ensuring daily bank reconciliations are completed properly.
- Performing all banking administration and keeping it up to date.
- Maintaining, processing and managing purchase and sales ledgers in accordance with best practice, including raising of sales invoices and timely processing of supplier invoices.
- Ensuring the supplier payment file is prepared for approval by Directors, and posted/processed after payment.
- Ensuring reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Producing and acting on aged debtor and creditor listings.
- Performing the credit control function to ensure debtors remain within agreed terms.
- Completing a speedy month‑end close process targeting zero errors.
- Completing quarterly VAT returns and monthly payroll reports to HMRC.
- Producing monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) including comparison to budget.
- Working with management to compile an annual budget and upload it to the finance reporting application.
- Ensuring payroll inputs for Payroll are timely, complete, accurate and in accordance with policy & procedure and processed each month.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to financial processes and controls.
- Performing other finance and administrative duties as directed by Directors.
- Minimum AAT Level 4 preference for qualification from one of the chartered institutes.
- Experience in accounts transactional processing.
- Experience in a management or financial accounting role in a business with turnover in excess of £2M per annum.
- Preparation of financial statements for an entire legal entity.
- Previous employment in the events industry advantageous or other fast‑paced service.
- Expert knowledge of small to mid‑market applications for accounting and ancillary processes.
- Highly IT literate; advanced user of Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to hit deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and numerical skills.
- Good communication skills, especially to non‑finance people.
This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week. Three days are based in Chesham and two days are remote per week.
