We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist post with the Rural Alliance Care Community Team based in Chowley and Ellesmere Port inpatient unit.

You will be part of an Integrated Care Community Team and hospital-based team providing therapy for patients in their own home and in an inpatient setting.

This will involve working with patients to remain in their own home in community and support with rehabilitation of patients in the hospital to support discharge home.

This role is working with the 2 teams team (community 3 days and inpatient 2 days), and will need to be flexible to support our colleagues within our 8 Care Community Teams in the Neighbourhood Group.

You could already be a Band 6 wishing for a change, or currently an experienced Band 5 who would like to take the next step in your career and practice in a community setting.

Shortlisting for this vacancy is due to commence on 28/01/2026 and the proposed interview date is 17/02/2026.

To work autonomously as a specialist therapy practitioner within an integrated Care Community Team to deliver a high-quality Occupational Therapy service through assessment and treatment of patients referred with complex rehabilitation needs.

To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and communicate information to those agencies (either health or social background) involved, to meet the needs of the patient & plan effective care.

To participate in departmental In-service Training and Journal Club activities to further consolidate knowledge base and specialist clinical skills.

Participate in the CPD programme to share these skills with therapy and nursing colleagues.

To provide supervision, teaching and support to senior and junior staff, assistant staff and act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students.
