QA Engineer vacancy hybrid in Chester (Minimum 3 days onsite) – £40,000–£50,000

Automation / Selenium / SQL / Agile

I'm looking for a Test Engineer to join an Agile delivery team within an established organisation. You'll be embedding quality throughout the SDLC and playing a key role in both manual and automated testing as the business continues to modernise its technology.

Working closely with IT, Product, Projects and wider business stakeholders you’ll support delivery across SCRUM and KANBAN, contributing to both current platforms and future cloud-based solutions.

You’ll have real influence over test strategy, automation frameworks, and overall quality practices.

• Test script creation and execution across functional, integration, end-to-end and regression testing
• Building and maintaining automation frameworks
• Embedding test automation early in solution design and development
• Working with stakeholders to ensure full coverage of functional requirements
• Producing clear test reports to communicate progress and risk
• Defining and documenting automation test strategies per project
• Mentoring team members on QA best practice
• Actively identifying and communicating risks and issues
• Supporting continuous improvement of QA processes and controls

• Hands-on experience writing and executing test cases
• Strong working knowledge of Selenium IDE or similar automation tools
• Experience with SQL Server and querying databases
• Knowledge of UX and web-based/cloud application testing
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of client-server applications, system architecture and networking

• Experience with Azure Dev Ops
• Experience with in financial services environments
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders
