Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Technician to join our team. This role will support our infrastructure projects by creating, managing, and analyzing geospatial data. The GIS Technician will work closely with engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure accurate and timely geospatial deliverables that enhance decision‑making and project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, process, and maintain spatial and tabular data from multiple sources.
  • Create maps, reports, and visualizations to support infrastructure planning and design.
  • Perform spatial analyses to identify patterns, trends, and project impacts.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency within enterprise GIS systems.
  • Assist with GPS data collection, field verification, and integration into GIS databases.
  • Support the development and maintenance of GIS applications, dashboards, and web maps.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver geospatial solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Document workflows, metadata, and best practices for data management.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal staff as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in GIS, preferably supporting infrastructure or engineering projects.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related GIS software
    .
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Micro Station, or other CAD tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS field data collection methods and mobile data applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, Python scripting, or Model Builder (a plus).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
