Maintenance Assistant; Shift

Do you want to make a difference for patients? As a Maintenance Assistant at The Countess of Chester Hospital you could do just that. You will join the Estates Team to assist in the necessary maintenance duties to ensure the safe and continuous operation of buildings located within the Trust. You will undertake specific maintenance tasks and will assist in the maintenance and repairs across the range of buildings within The Countess of Chester complex.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the post-holder will typically cover a 37.5-hour week over a 7-day operation. A shift pattern will be followed to include shifts of 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and days 8am-4pm with certain shifts attracting enhanced rates of pay. Some overtime may be offered and this will attract enhanced rates of pay.

• You will assist with and carry out routine maintenance tasks, including statutory, mandatory and planned minor repair works to a range of buildings and their components (after in house trainingas required).
• You will liaise with the Estates Team Leader to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
• You will undertake and assist with essential works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Estates Team Leader.
• You will be available in work via the handheld device system (training provided) to contribute and work towards the safety and welfare of patients and other staff and respond to any incidents e.g.,fire, flood, trapped patients.

• Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility
• Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
