Shift Cover Maintenance Engineer – Chester/Deeside

Salary: £30.00 – £40.00 per hour

Shift Length: 8–12 hours, days and nights

Gap Technical is representing a market‑leading manufacturing business near Wrexham. This role is ideal for engineers seeking additional income on shifts or part‑time work.

• Support the manufacturing process by responding to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance and proactively correcting recurrent machine faults.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and focus on the nominated production area.
• Fault‑find effectively, using historic documentation.
• Establish harmonious relations with operational staff and work flexibly with them.
• Train operational team members to perform minor maintenance tasks and assist in major repairs.
• Ensure machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
• Pro‑actively reduce engineering downtime and continuously improve the process and department.

• Completed a timeserved engineering apprenticeship (ideally).
• Background in FMCG/Packaging manufacturing a distinct advantage but not required.
• Ability to fault‑find on 3‑phase electrical systems, drives and I/O PLCs.
• Excellent communication and efficient planning and organisation.
