Head of Pharmacy Operations

We are seeking an experienced Head of Pharmacy Operations to lead and optimise the performance of a multi-site pharmacy portfolio across the Midlands and North West. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, commercial growth, and a consistently high-quality patient experience across all branches.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for the strategic and day-to-day operations of the pharmacy estate. You will oversee branch performance, financial delivery, compliance, and people development, while identifying opportunities for growth, innovation, and service improvement.

This is a highly visible, field-based role requiring regular travel between branches and close collaboration with senior leadership, pharmacists, and operational teams to ensure strong commercial and clinical outcomes.

Location:

Head Office - Derbyshire (the role is primarily field-based across the Midlands and North West, Milton Keynes up to Manchester)

Salary & Benefits:

• £100,000 basic salary

About you:

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in retail pharmacy operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success in managing and improving performance across multi-site retail environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and profitability.
• In-depth understanding of pharmacy operations, regulatory frameworks, and governance.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and decision-making capability.

• Registered Pharmacist status - this is highly desirable
