Staveley, Chesterfield Salary: £13.50 - £15.50 per hour (negotiated on experience) Mission:
To work as part of a team in the timely and accurate completion of the workload within the Transport Department and to provide a cost effective Traffic Planning operation and assist with other Transport Admin roles whilst following company systems and procedures. To ensure effective liaison and service to all colleagues, staff, departments, hauliers and customers. This opportunity is to cover a member of staff who is on long-term sick and if you settle into the role and impress our client, you will have a strong chance of being made a permanent member of the team.

Main Duties:
To plan all mainland distribution and collections, including onward shipment orders and intergroup deliveries and stock movements, using the planning software provided. To select accurately all orders requiring despatch from the Staveley Depot, plus any from Luton as required, to meet customer delivery requirements and departmental and company measures. To select the most cost effective distribution channel within the parameters set by the Transport Manager.

To accurately and cost effectively plan and utilise the fleet based at Staveley and the fleet at Luton as required. To ensure the timely issue of accurate paperwork and information in order to assist all other departments and drivers in the completion of their functions in an accurate and timely manner in order to fulfil customer requirements. To ensure customer requirements are adhered to and that paperwork and systems are updated accordingly.

To provide accurate feedback to relevant departments requiring information, whilst providing information in advance on delivery issues, ensuring the relevant procedures are followed at all times. To ensure the preparation and timely issue of relevant reports as required. To attempt to further develop and improve the Traffic Planning role. To assist Drivers with load/delivery queries. To assist Transport Team members with the despatch and carrier functions.

To assist other staff members as required. To undertake any other work as can be reasonably expected.

Qualifications:

CPC holder desirable but not essential, as full training will be given. Good geographical knowledge. Good standard of computer literacy. A good attitude and a flexible approach to the role and ability to undertake further tasks upon completion of the relevant training.

Experience of customer care and team working skills. The ability to complete Transport office tasks satisfactorily after training. The ability to work accurately and efficiently at speed in a busy work environment in order to meet tight deadlines.

Experience of Transport procedures along with experience of Driver and Load issues.
