About the role

Our ideal candidate for Bridge Construction Project Supervisor has at least 8+ years of relevant Construction Supervision of bridges and structures, and/or 3+years experience of Contract Administration experience delivering

MoTTMajor Works Projects
. Your application will stand out if you are skilled in contract administration and have a proven record of delivering Major Works projects for Provincial bridge construction project. Relevant training, education, and certifications are further assets on your resume.

YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS in this role is your ability to foster a safe work environment, manage quality, timelines,communications and costs. Under your supervision, the project work will be completed to the highest standards, on time and budget.

You'llshine in this role if you:

  • have technical knowledge of bridge construction methods, concrete bridge deckrehabilitationand resurfacing
  • have successfully administered a Provincial Major Works Contract
  • have expert knowledge ofMoTTStandard Specifications for Highway Construction
  • excel at QA/QC processes, can manage tight timelines, and control budget expenditures
  • are organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused
  • communicate in a professional, clear, andtimelymanner with your teammates, clients, consultants, members of the public, and other stakeholders
  • thoroughly understand Occupational Health & Safety and Work Safe BC regulations and have a 'no compromises' attitude when it comes to safety
  • understand project filing systems and document control best practices
  • confidently take on new challenges and responsibilities
  • goabove and beyondfor your client every step of the way
  • step into leadership roles with a supportive and appreciative attitude towards others

Day-to-day on the job:

  • drive to various project locations around BC
  • oversee all aspects of the contractor's work on bridge construction projects thoroughly and proactively
  • develop a quality assurance plan and processes to audit project conformance
  • interpret the contract, project plans, specifications, and special provisions, ensuring strict adherence to project requirements
  • maintain daily/weekly/monthly documentation, records, logs, and photos/videos
  • perform site inspections and report on findings
  • review of non-conformance issues and follow up on corrective actions
  • work cooperatively and respectfully with team members at all levels
  • collaborate with the contractor to review schedules, work in progress, materials quantities, and progress estimates
  • ensure early identification of contentious issues and provide smooth dispute resolution and corrective guidance
  • provide supervision and guidance to junior staff
  • assist with training, safety orientations, etc.
  • exercise autonomy at work, making sound judgments to manage risks, ensure safety, and impress the client
