About

The Role

The Recent Graduate Development role provides practical, hands‑on experience for recent graduates from engineering‑related programs who are pursuing careers in infrastructure construction or related fields. Working closely with the Engineering and Quality Control team, this position supports the production of high‑quality precast concrete products through data collection, analysis, and standardized testing. The role offers exposure to QCast, ASTM, CSA, and ACI standards and their applications in underground infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest.

Operating with some independence, while reporting to engineering staff, the successful candidate will gain industry knowledge, apply design specifications, and develop foundational skills that will prepare them for future engineering roles.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Prepare, revise, and maintain standard QC packages for customers, including material certifications, compression reports, temperature graphs, technical data sheets, and mix design documentation.
  • Perform daily compression and density strength reporting—including data collection, review, and digital filing—and conduct and document inspections of lined products such as pipes, manholes, and bases.
  • Operate and maintain Maturix temperature monitoring systems, including locating boxes from previous casts, setting up new units, reviewing casts online, and ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Create and maintain test reports for various procedures, including SCC testing, ladder rung testing, prototype packages, and special tests requested by customers.
  • Calculate and report water‑to‑cement ratios by gathering burn‑off results, batch data, and generating summary reports.
  • Conduct site visits and provide onsite documentation for non‑conformance reports (NCRs), repairs, and project‑specific inspections as required.
  • Support Engineering team with general tasks such as pouring marketing and demonstration samples, basic design calculations, revision of standard drawings, measuring product forms, etc.
  • Develop and update pre‑pour and post‑pour inspection sheets from CAD drawings, Excel sheets and PDF documents to support QC productivity, organization, and record‑keeping.
  • Measure pallets, headers, and joint formers to maintain compliance with QCast standards.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
