The Public Works and Parks Operations Department with the City of Chilliwack, a growing and vibrant community of 100,580 located 100 kilometres east of Vancouver, is seeking a skilled individual to fill the position of Co-Op Student – Public Works – GIS/Geomatics Survey.

• Must be enrolled in the Co-operative Education Program at a recognized post-secondary institution and have met the specific entrance criteria for that program;
• Sound knowledge of English business communications;
• Able to perform assignments with minimal supervision;
• Good knowledge of modern office practices and procedures;
• Observing and complying with municipal;
• Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with department officials, department heads and other members of the staff;
• Determine precise locations using GPS equipment
• Perform topographic surveys of existing City infrastructure
• Able to interpret engineered and construction drawings
• Introductory understanding of map projections and coordinate systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills

The work week is Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm and the hourly rate for this unionized position is $31.94/ hour (2025 rate).
