Groundwork Estimator - Civil Engineering Contractor
Location:
Office based in Chorley
Salary: £30,000 - £75,000 DOE + Car Allowance or Company Car + Annual Bonus 4% to 6% of annual salary + Pension + Charging Facilities
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm | Friday 8:00am-4:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Full-time, Permanent
- Salary from £30,000 to £75,000, depending on experience (junior to senior) Annual Employee Bonus of 4% - 6% of your salary, based on company performance

Up Front Recruitment is working with a highly respected civil engineering and groundworks subcontractor with a 40+ year history and a long-standing reputation for excellence in residential infrastructure delivery.
Recognised with multiple industry awards, including - Health & Safety Sub-Contractor of the Year (2022/23 & 2020/21) and several NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards, this company has built its success on safety, technical ability, and solid partnerships with national house builders.
They re now looking to strengthen their estimating team by hiring a Groundwork Estimator to join their Chorley office, supporting residential projects across the region.
The RoleAs an Estimator, you ll be part of a stable and experienced commercial team, pricing works for major residential development projects. You ll join a department with four other Estimators and a wider commercial function that includes Quantity Surveyors.
You ll be based from the Chorley office, with site visits to just take a nosey at the work you ve estimated.
Project scope includes:
- Deep drainage and sewer
- Section 278 and 38 works
- Groundworks for 200+ unit sites
- Retaining walls etc
- Estimating experience in groundworks or civil engineering
- Skilled in Excel
- Experience with Bluebeam, Causeway, or Conquest (or willingness to learn)
- Able to produce accurate take-offs and interpret technical drawings
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Full UK driving licence
