We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology. This new post will help develop the diabetes and endocrine services at the trust, alongside this recently expanded team.
Main duties of the jobProfessional Responsibilities
It is a requirement of the post that holder comply with Trust policies and procedures, have (and maintain) GMC registration / licensing, and participate in a formal CPD programme. The post holder must also participate in regular medical audit and in annual appraisal and job planning for revalidation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
General (Internal) Medicine (Ward 9A) – The ward has 14 General Medical Beds. The consultant will be responsible for a ward of up to 14 inpatients.
Outpatient Specialty Work – The successful applicant will undertake a rota of daily diabetes clinics, foot care clinics and maternity services, with additional specialty sessions negotiable.
Audit and Education
The successful candidate will participate in regular departmental and national audits, attend teaching sessions and attend governance meetings.
Qualifications- UK‑trained holders of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within 6 months of being awarded their CCT on interview date.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCP or equivalent medical qualification
- MD/PHD or equivalent medical qualification
- Knowledge and experience of Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Extensive training in an accredited diabetes endocrine programme
- Participation in Clinical Audit / QI
- Teaching experience at undergraduate / postgraduate level
- Evidence‑based practice and publication record
- Experience in diabetes foot or maternity services and service development
- Teaching enthusiasm
- Team working in a multi‑professional environment
- Commitment to partnership working
- Current driving licence and travel arrangements between sites
