We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a highly reputable business in Chorley on a 9-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their management accounts experience within a busy and supportive finance team.

The successful candidate will support the month‑end process, assist with financial reporting, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and provide analytical insight to the wider business.

• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
• Prepare journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard
• Support cash flow reporting and forecasting
• Assist with variance analysis and cost reporting
• Maintain financial records and support audit requirements
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance queries
• Provide general finance support and ad‑hoc reporting as required

• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant role
• Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations
• Confident user of Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables as a minimum)
• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced finance environment
• Strong communication skills and willingness to support the wider team

🎓 Ideally AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying / working towards AAT Level 3 (or equivalent). Candidates studying Level 4 or pursuing further qualifications will also be considered.
