Practice Nurse Job Overview

As a Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care across various primary care services. The role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with competence in immunisations, cytology, and wound care, ready to work independently within a supportive clinical environment. The Practice Nurse role includes routine treatments, chronic disease management, and wound care, providing a varied and rewarding workload.

Candidate Responsibilities

Conduct cervical cytology (smear tests)
Administer childhood & adult immunisations
Provide wound care & dressings
Support chronic disease management (where competent)
Perform routine treatment room duties
Work independently in a GP surgery setting
Deliver high-standard patient care in line with clinical protocols

Candidate Requirements

NHS Smartcard essential
Proven competency in cytology, immunisations, and wound care
Ability to work independently within a GP surgery environment
Flexibility to adapt to various shifts and sessions
