Applications are invited for the above posts starting as soon as possible for an initial period of 6 months with the potential to be extended.
The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital Orthopaedic department is one of the largest Arthroplasty units within the UK, with 25 orthopaedic Consultants, two of whom specialise in foot and ankle surgery and one in hand and wrist surgery.
The department undertakes approximately 4000 primary and revision joint replacements and over 500 other elective orthopaedic procedures (including foot & ankle, soft tissue knee surgery and hand) per year. The Foot and Ankle Unit is a high volume centre for elective surgery with over 600 elective orthopaedic procedures each year and is a high volume centre for total ankle replacements.
ResponsibilitiesDepending on the post offered the successful candidates will be exposed to all aspects of modern hip and knee arthroplasty surgery including robotic and computer navigated knee replacements. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in audit and research.
QualificationsCandidates should ideally have completed a basic Orthopaedic Registrar training program and passed the appropriate examinations (MRCS compulsory, FRCS Orth. desirable). Candidates without MRCS will not be considered for interview.
