Clinical Fellows in Lower Limb Arthroplasty
Applications are invited for the Clinical Fellows in Lower Limb Arthroplasty role at NHS Golden Jubilee starting as soon as possible for an initial period of 6 months, with potential for extension.
The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital Orthopaedic department is one of the largest Arthroplasty units in the UK, hosting 25 orthopaedic Consultants, two of whom specialise in foot and ankle surgery and one in hand and wrist surgery.
The department undertakes approximately 4,000 primary and revision joint replacements and over 500 other elective orthopaedic procedures per year, including foot & ankle, soft tissue knee surgery and hand. The Foot and Ankle Unit is a high volume centre for elective surgery with over 600 procedures each year and is a high volume centre for total ankle replacements.
Depending on the post offered, the successful candidate will be exposed to all aspects of modern hip and knee arthroplasty surgery, including robotic and computer‑navigated knee replacements, and will be expected to actively participate in audit and research.
Candidates should ideally have completed a basic Orthopaedic Registrar training programme and passed the appropriate examinations (MRCS compulsory, FRCS Orth. desirable). Candidates without MRCS will not be considered for interview.
