Orthodontic Nurse

Job Summary

Colchester Orthodontic Centre is seeking an experienced orthodontic nurse to work part‑time (26.25 hours per week). The role reports to the lead nurse, practice manager and principal, and involves supporting clinical and non‑clinical patient care.

• Assist the specialist orthodontist/therapist in all clinical procedures.
• Plan appointments to avoid delays for patients and clinicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of surgical areas and equipment, including aspiration systems and autoclaves.
• Keep accurate records in line with practice policy and medico‑legal guidelines.
• Notify management of faulty equipment that requires repair.
• Ensure patient comfort and maintain confidentiality.
• Monitor inventory and contact the laboratory to prevent delays.
• Follow health and safety codes, including handling X‑rays, emergency procedures, and fire drills.
• Explain treatment and payment options to patients and parents.
