Maintenance Assistant – East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust

Join the Estates Department at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT). The role is based at Colchester Hospital
, with travel to other ESNEFT sites as required. It is a contract (Entry level) position, within the Management and Manufacturing function and Specialty Trade Contractors industry.

• Work in accordance with HS, HTMs, Fire code and Trust safety policies.
• Prepare to work in hazardous areas, taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
• Actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
• Actively participate in the operation of the Trust’s current work management control scheme by working within the scheme including completion of all paperwork/IT required by the scheme (job tickets, risk assessments, daily worksheets and weekly/monthly timesheets).
• Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management.
• Undertake emergency cover on site, providing cover for all building services to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal working hours are attended to.
• During normal working hours and emergency cover on site, carry Trust communication devices (e.g. Pagers and/or two‑way radios) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.
