Position: Tesco Shift Leader - Days Express

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too.

We will schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows found below. You’ll have three weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We support flexibility: if the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the advertised times we still would love to hear from you.

Availability Window

Sunday: 13:00 – 22:00

Monday: 13:00 – 22:00

Wednesday: 06:00 – 15:00

Saturday: 06:00 – 15:00

Customers are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Shift Leader you’ll support the team, keep the store running smoothly, and deliver great customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Be there for customers, listening to them and helping them leave with what they came for.
  • Look for ways to improve service, including coaching your colleagues and giving feedback to the team.
  • Guide and support colleagues in-store, ensuring it stays a safe place to work and shop.
  • Maintain a great understanding of store performance, and assist managers in delivering actions that improve the store.
  • Lead from the front, and set a great example for your colleagues in everything you do.
