Internal Sales Executive – Colchester

Location:

Colchester, Essex

Salary: £27,000 basic + up to £3,000 bonus

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours

Our client, a growing UK business, are looking for an Internal Sales Executive to join its established office-based sales team in Colchester.

This role would suit someone with experience in internal sales, inside sales, sales support or customer service, who enjoys building relationships, handling inbound enquiries, and working in a fast-paced commercial environment.

The Role Working from a modern Colchester office, the Internal Sales Executive will act as a key point of contact for trade customers, supporting sales activity and ensuring a high level of customer service.
You’ll work closely with both customers and the External Sales team to maximise opportunities and ensure smooth order processing.

Key Responsibilities
Handling inbound sales enquiries via phone and email
Providing quotations, pricing and product information
Processing and managing customer orders accurately
Building strong relationships with merchants and trade customers
Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Supporting External Sales with account management and follow-ups
Managing back orders and liaising with logistics and warehouse teams
Resolving customer queries and issues efficiently
Updating CRM / ERP systems with accurate information

Experience & Skills Required
Experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Support, Inside Sales or Customer Service role
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Commercially aware with a proactive, sales-focused mindset
Highly organised with good attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office
CRM / ERP experience beneficial but not essential
Able to work independently and as part of a team
