Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications.

The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose

Reports directly to the Program Director for the capacity expansion program.

The role will lead a PMO scheduling and project-controls team and will work in a matrix environment with internal facility, equipment engineering, procurement, operations, finance, and safety organizations. Engagement with schedulers at vendors, EPCM and equipment integration partners is likely.

The Manager, Scheduling & Project Controls is accountable for establishing and maintaining the integrated planning and scheduling system for a major, capital expansion program exceeding $500 million in its first phase.

This leader will create and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), integrate schedules from facilities, EPCM, equipment engineering, procurement, off-site equipment integration, site installation, commissioning, and operational readiness, and provide an independent, fact-based forecast of key program milestones.

The position will ensure that the program has a credible, logic-driven, risk-informed path to facility readiness, equipment move-in, installation completion, debug, and first product. The leader will identify cross-functional schedule risks early, lead schedule assurance and recovery planning, and provide clear decision support to program and executive leadership.
