Mental Health Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Mental Health Practitioner to be part of our First Response Services based within our Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Congleton. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, which include Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services, and the Crisis Line.
In this role you will work within a multi‑disciplinary team, providing comprehensive assessments of people presenting in crisis, undertaking detailed assessments of needs and using your clinical skills to provide intervention and treatment.
- Recognised qualification in mental health – RMN, AHP, Social Care (AMHPs)
- Evidence of further professional development involving serious mental illness
- Willingness to undertake and complete a nurse prescribing certificate
- Non‑medical prescribing certificate, knowledge and sensitivity to equal‑opportunity issues
- Sound knowledge of current professional staff development and continuous service improvement issues, particularly in the context of ADHD and personality disorder services
- Information Management and Technology skills
- A good amount of post‑registration experience or demonstrated competencies through a Personal Development Plan
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
- Appropriate UK professional registration

All new starters commence post on a fixed start date each month, in line with the Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme. P2C offers up to three weeks of training to support you in meeting the induction and initial training requirements of the role.
Other InformationApplicants will be required to pay for their DBS check, with costs deducted from salary following appointment. The DBS Update Service may be enrolled for a small annual fee of £16 per year. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
