Graduate Project Design Engineer
Location: CDE Group Ltd, H1, Kilcronagh Business Park
Cookstown, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
The Role
Your role will be key to our business success, exposing you to many aspects of the business and assisting to ensure live projects are planned and executed in accordance with the business capacity and customer requirements. In this role you will ensure that we are able to simply deliver for our customers.
Roles And Responsibilities- Co‑ordinate with and assist senior designers to manage projects and focus on reducing cost and cycle time on current plant equipment.
- Participate in quality reviews and processes.
- Create BOMs, layouts and fabrication drawings for projects and manage and liaise with customers and suppliers on design specifics, aesthetics & plant requirements.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Support the sales team through preliminary technical specifications, site visits and technical advice on the products/process.
- Work as a member of the operations team to constantly strive for continuous improvements through improving processes and product development.
- Learn all aspects of the business to become a well‑rounded engineer.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Visit customer sites regularly to ensure support with snags and provide design support.
- Develop skills and knowledge to be able to manage and design projects from initial sales contact through sign‑off to customer.
- Adhere to all CDE’s policies.
People skills and a passion for engineering solutions are essential.
Required Criteria- Educated to degree or HND/HNC level in an engineering discipline.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft packages.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, orally, and through presentations.
- Ability to work unsupervised and plan own workload.
- Committed to health & safety.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Enthusiastic, energetic self‑starter able to work on own initiative.
- Available to work flexible hours.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
- Current driving licence and vehicle insured for business use.
- Clearance to work in the UK.
