Job Description

Our Client is seeking compassionate and motivated Social Care Workers & Team Leaders to join their dedicated teams based in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland providing holistic, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and associated mental health needs.

You will play a vital role in supporting people to live meaningful, independent lives; ensuring their dignity, rights, and individuality are respected at all times. This will be a permanent post requiring full time hours (days, nights, sleepovers) Monday-Sunday on shift rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic day-to-day support in line with individual needs assessments.
  • Deliver person-centred, empowering care that promotes independence and self-determination.
  • Assist with all aspects of personal care
    , maintaining respect, privacy and dignity.
  • Ensure the Human Rights of each service user are upheld with integrity and respect.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment at all times.
  • Promote each individual’s wishes, preferences, skills and abilities
    , supporting them to live life to their fullest potential.
  • Encourage social inclusion
    , supporting service users to be valued members of their community.
  • Provide accurate and accessible information to enable informed decision-making
    .
  • Work in the least restrictive and most enabling way
    , supporting positive risk-taking
    .
  • Use a low-arousal, non-aversive approach to behaviour support.
  • Support service users to achieve personal outcomes with clear goals and time frames.
  • Prioritise supports, meet key commitments, and work in line with evidence-based practice
    .
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and infection control
    .
  • Accurately complete all daily records, risk assessments, reports and documentation
    .
  • Administer and document medication safely
    , following the 10 Rights of Medication Administration.
  • Ensure proper handling and safeguarding of service users’ medications and finances
    , as per policy.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks (including RQIA standards).
  • Participate in team meetings, reviews and multidisciplinary discussions
    , sharing feedback and observations appropriately.
  • Contribute positively and professionally to the staff team and wider organisation
    .
Essential Requirements
  • A third level qualification (level
    5) or equivalent in the area of health & social care
  • Registered with NISCC/CORU as a Social Care Worker
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience of working in similar settings/residential services, with people with a learning disability, autism or associated mental health needs.
  • Experience of leading a team of staff in a social care environment, preferably residential care (Team Lead)
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
  • A full driving licence valid for use in Ireland/UK.
  • Right to Work in the UK/Ireland
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience as a Key Worker or in a leadership role within a care setting.
  • Experience supporting adults with complex needs or behaviours of concern in community settings.
  • Knowledge and experience RQIA Minimum Standards
    .
  • Further training or certification in Safety Intervention (formerly MAPA), or similar frameworks.
