What You’ll Do- Coordinate with trade contractors and ensure project schedule progresses accordingly.
- Create, track, and monitor look‑ahead schedules.
- Assist Project Manager with cost tracking for non‑contract work.
- Review drawings to foresee problems and minimize schedule & financial impacts.
- Establish, maintain, and control quality control standards on site.
- Identify and escalat potential issues to the Construction Manager promptly.
- Recommend corrective actions to maintain project schedule and quality.
- Enforce Onni’s Health and Safety Standards.
- Ensure all staff and contractors maintain a safe working environment according to company policies.
- Coordinate all activity between trades and suppliers.
- Ensure changes are properly documented and implemented.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports to Head Office.
- Provide schedule updates to the Construction Manager regularly.
- Ensure inspections are completed throughout all construction phases to meet client specifications and BC Building Code.
- Maintain a daily construction journal.
- Document the construction process and keep all parties informed on important issues.
- Effectively manage assistants, forepersons, detailers, and laborers.
- Implement QC checks for all finishing work.
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience.
- Strong sequencing experience.
- Excellent knowledge of BC Building Code and high attention to detail.
- Proven performance in leadership and managing people and construction sites.
- Demonstrated effective communication and team building skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritizing appropriately.
- Successful completion of the WorkSafeBC “Supervising for Safety” online training course within the probationary period.
- Motivated self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced team environment and desires to grow with the company.
