AboutThe Role
Axiom Builders is striving to create a supportive, engaging and passionate safety culture across all of our construction sites. This is done through partnership with Superintendents and Project Managers, leveraging technology, continual training and development, semi‑annual performance reviews and feedback processes and supporting individual growth.
We are actively hiring CSOs for our sites in Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and enhance safety by tracking issues, maintaining records of incidents, and suggesting improvements.
- Conduct orientations, training, and safety coordination for workers and subcontractors.
- Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on tool and equipment usage.
- Lead emergency response, manage First Aid resources, investigate incidents, and collaborate on safety record management.
- Five or more (5+) years related experience in a safety position acquired in a construction setting (residential ground‑up construction preferred).
- Advanced First Aid (OFA Level
3) is a must. - CSO designation and/or National Construction Safety Officer or similar accreditation through a recognized training authority.
- Additional training in safety an asset including but not limited to WHMIS, CSTS, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety.
- Effective time management, organizational and problem‑solving skills, including an understanding of accident prevention and cause analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Must be able to coach, facilitate and influence a cultural and behavioral change in the workplace regarding safety.
The base wage range for this role is between $36–$40 /hour, depending on experience. During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.
