Responsibilities- Assisting in conducting and identifying when project‑specific training is required, including weekly topics, hazard‑specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP).
- Participating in and providing information for HSE meetings.
- Providing the project team with project‑specific information and statistics to develop trends and assisting with the creation of trend action plans.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Hazard (e.g., CHA, JHA, PSI).
- Conducting and documenting project HSE inspections.
- Verifying that corrective actions are implemented.
- Identifying and monitoring appropriate site PPE.
- Assisting project management and supervision with the implementation and monitoring of the emergency response plan, project security requirements, and environmental plan.
- Gathering, reviewing, and providing input on trade documentation.
- Monitoring trade contractor safety compliance.
- Notifying project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigation.
- Assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and support of the project’s HSE Plan, HSEOPs, safe work practices, and any other HSE‑related practices.
- Residing in Coquitlam or the surrounding area is preferred.
- Postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an asset.
- Safety designation (NCSO, CRSP, CHST) is considered an asset.
- At least 2 years of experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE.
- Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation.
Ability to implement HSE processes. - Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility.
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude for adopting new technology.
Pay range: $45–$50 per hour, overtime required.
