CNC Router Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Router Operator with experience in architectural sheet metal fabrication and bending. This role is critical to the production of custom metal panels used in architectural and commercial construction. The successful candidate will operate CNC router machines, assist with programming and setup, and perform precision sheet metal bending using brakes and other forming tools.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC routers to cut metal panels according to design specifications and blueprints.
- Load and secure sheet metal materials onto the machine bed.
- Input or modify machine programs.
- Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure quality output.
- Inspect cut components for accuracy using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.).
- Set up and operate manual or CNC press brakes to bend and form architectural sheet metal components.
- Read and interpret shop drawings to produce accurate flashing, trim, panels, and other custom metal parts.
- Fabricate complex profiles using aluminum composite material (ACM), aluminum plate, and other architectural metals.
- Ensure proper bend allowances, radii, and tolerances are maintained throughout the forming process.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC and brake equipment (lubrication, calibration, etc.).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and production standards.
- Communicate with production team members to coordinate workflow and meet deadlines.
- Assist in packaging and preparing finished products for shipment or installation.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in metal fabrication, CNC machining, or related field is a plus.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC routers and/or press brakes in a metal fabrication or architectural panel shop.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles, including bend allowances, tolerances, and material behavior.
- Experience working with architectural metals such as aluminum plate, ACM, zinc, stainless steel, and galvanized steel.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings and construction documents.
- Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code knowledge or CAM software experience preferred).
- Proficient with hand and power tools, measurement instruments, and quality inspection techniques.
- Forklift certification or experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.

Salary Range$55,000 - $75,000
