Summary of responsibilities
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the role of Registered Nurse (RN) at CCH is to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical, and evidenced-based nursing care. The overall function of the RN is to assist our patients and community to manage clinical conditions and transitions and maximize their self-care abilities. The RN also acts as a resource for members of the care team as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.
Requirements of the job
• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Is committed to living the Mission and Values of Cornwall Community Hospital
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Clinical knowledge and experience with central lines and peripheral lines
• 1-2 years of surgical nursing experience
• 1-2 years of Emergency or Critical Care nursing experience
• PACU course or enrolled and completed within 1 year of hire
• Completion of critical care self-learning modules
• Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
Assets:
• Functional proficiency in French - and testing completed

• Completes established curricula as required at the unit level
• Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and documentation
