Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee

Mortgage Loan Originator / Advisor, Financial Sales, Banking & Finance, Loan Officer / Lending
Job Description & How to Apply Below
Great with people? Willing to work hard? We'll help you learn the mortgage business.
You don't need years of mortgage experience to become a successful Loan Officer.
But you do need something we can't teach: a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the willingness to consistently do what you say you're going to do.
At Roseth Mortgage, we're looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in mortgage lending.
We'll provide the guidance, technology, mentorship, and a path toward becoming a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer. You bring the effort.
We believe great Loan Officers can come from many backgrounds.
Maybe you've worked in automotive sales, retail, hospitality, insurance, customer service, or another relationship-driven profession.
Maybe you've never considered the mortgage industry.
What matters most to us is your ability to connect with people, follow through on commitments, accept coaching, and maintain a positive attitude when things get challenging.
We're looking for someone who wants to learn a profession, not just find another job.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for a structured training path that includes:
- Mortgage licensing education and exam preparation through UWM's Broker X program, subject to program eligibility and availability.
- Guidance through the NMLS licensing process.
- Mortgage industry fundamentals, products, and loan guidelines.
- Hands-on mentorship from experienced mortgage professionals.
- Training on building and maintaining Realtor referral relationships.
- Access to Home Sync, our proprietary mortgage and Realtor relationship platform.
- Practical instruction on prospecting, follow-up, communication, and customer service.
UWM's Broker X program may also include in-person training at UWM following licensing milestones. Specific education, travel, scheduling, and program arrangements will be confirmed during the hiring process.
What You Should Know Before ApplyingThis is not a passive sales position.
You will need to study, pass licensing requirements, make calls, follow up with people, and work consistently to develop relationships.
Some days will be frustrating. Some people won't answer. Some Realtor introductions won't become business.
We expect you to stay professional, keep learning, and continue doing the work.
Our company and technology are growing. We welcome thoughtful feedback, but we also expect our team members to follow established processes and help improve them constructively.
We can teach mortgage lending. We cannot supply your motivation.
This position is intended to develop into a commission-based Mortgage Loan Officer role.
Licensed Loan Officer compensation is generally 225 basis points (2.25%) of the loan amount, less a $995 company fee per closed loan, subject to the applicable compensation agreement.
Pre-licensing compensation, employment classification, training expenses, and the transition to commissioned origination will be explained before an offer is accepted.
There is no guarantee of licensing, funded loans, or a specific earnings level.
