AboutThe Role
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver top quality service to a dynamic and busy department, and to contribute to the overall customer and student experience at the University. The role is to provide procurement expertise and assistance to the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain (Estates) to ensure effective supplier management and sourcing of services and materials to meet a high demand for the supply of stock and non-stock materials.
It involves conducting low value tenders and assisting the Category managers in conducting tenders for Estates categories. The Estates Procurement team delivers end-to-end procurement for the Estates department and manages the following categories:
Estates Works and Consultancy, Estates Maintenance and Supplies, Estates Services, Transport, Utilities, FF&E.
We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual to work as a Procurement Coordinator, as part of the Procurement team which supports the Estates Office operation. To be successful in this role, we are looking for somebody who can demonstrate:
- Previous HE or Commercial experience, preferably in a varied and busy procurement environment.
- Excellent attention to details and communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Good team player.
- Good numeracy, statistical and ratio analysis skills.

About The DepartmentThe University Finance Office supports business planning and innovation to maximise the financial resources available to the University and create the long-term sustainable financial platform required for future growth. Finance staff across the University are networked as a professional community of expertise. You will be supported to continue your professional journey through access to Continuing Professional Development training opportunities, sector networks and regular Finance Office briefings.
The role is campus based; however staff can opt to work under the Finance Office’s current hybrid policy where a maximum of 40% of time (2 days per week for full-time staff, typically Tuesday and Friday) can be worked remotely. This is subject to review and operational requirements. While in the induction phase you’ll be required to work 100% in the office.
