Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 dependant on which role

A Leading regional Civil Contractor turnover of £550m per annum are seeking the following

• Site Engineers
• Senior Engineers
• Sub Agents

To work on a variety of civil, infrastructure and Highways projects up to £8m each. Locations will include Birmingham, Leicester, Wellingborough and Midlands

Projects will include Highways, 278 works, demolition, enabling works, new construction, foundations, piling, RC concrete, works, and drainage. Must come from a main contractor background and have experience in Civil Engineering.

The role

The candidate will be Responsible for the technical engineering delivery and site co-ordination of a section of the project works. Take ownership of the health, safety and environmental, quality, programme and commercial management of the sections of the project.

Duties;

• Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the operating area
• Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification
• Operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment
• Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
• Liaise and attend regular meetings with the Section Engineer/Sub Agent/Site Agent to update on progress of works
• Read and understand construction and other drawings, specifications and other technical information.
• Calculate quantities and understand construction measurement methods
• Requisition of materials
• Understand plant and equipment
• Product/assist in the production of method statements, inspection and test plans and risk assessments and to ensure compliance of the same
• Comply fully with Company’s Business Management System (BMS)

Essential

HNC/Degree civil engineering

Dependant on whether applying for Site engineer role, senior engineer role or Sub agent role

• Site engineer must have 2/3 years experience
• Senior engineer – must have 6/7 years experience
• Sub agent must have 8/9 years experience

These years working as an Engineer on civil projects for a main contractor in a permanent position

Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.

• Experience of working within the civil engineering industry for a main contractor (essential)
• Valid CSCS card
