Chief Technology Officer

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead technology strategy and delivery across battery energy storage systems (BESS), embedded and control systems, electrical engineering, software, and data science. The successful candidate will define the technical roadmap, lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensure systems are safe, compliant, scalable, and commercially viable.

Own and deliver the end-to-end technology strategy across hardware, software, and data.

Lead development of large-scale battery storage systems and embedded control platforms.

Oversee cloud-based energy management software and data-driven optimisation.

Ensure compliance with functional safety, grid, and electrical standards.

Build and lead high-performing engineering teams and external partners.

Support customer engagement, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.

Proven senior technical leadership with 10+ years of experience, including expertise in energy storage, electric vehicles, or power systems.

Deep knowledge of embedded systems, high-voltage electrical engineering, and software platform development.

A strong track record of delivering complex products from concept through to successful deployment.

Ability to thrive in dynamic startup or scale-up environments, driving innovation and growth.

Commercial acumen with a decisive mindset, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution
