Radiotherapy Physics Technologist
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable service engineer to join the Radiotherapy Physics team successful candidate will have practical experience in electronic / electrical engineering but not necessarily with Radiotherapy equipment. Full in‑house and manufacturer training will be provided to enable the individual to adapt their existing skills to our equipment.
The candidate will join a team of specialist engineers led by our technical manager to provide repair, maintenance and development services to the Arden Cancer Centre (ACC). We are located on the University Hospital site at Walsgrave, on the edge of historic Coventry, with convenient transport to the city and easy access to rural Warwickshire, the M6 and the M69 motorways.
ResponsibilitiesDuties will include all aspects of the repair and planned maintenance of medical linear accelerators and ancillary equipment.
Qualifications- Proven experience as a service engineer, technician or similar role in healthcare, industry or the Armed Forces.
- Demonstrated experience of fault‑finding and repair of complex electronic systems.
- A relevant degree or technical qualification and proven experience are required.
- Relevant experience areas may include high‑power RF & microwave generation, x‑ray generation, high vacuum systems, servo control, digital imaging, radiation detection and medical devices. Supplementary areas such as computer networking and mechanical engineering will also be considered.
- Previous experience with medical linear accelerators is not required but appointment at b6 will require experience in a relevant area; applicants with less experience may be considered and initially appointed at a lower pay band.
