Occupational Therapist Band 6 – Children's Intensive Support Team, Coventry and Warwickshire.
Job SummaryAn experienced Occupational Therapist with knowledge of autism and learning disabilities is sought to join the multi‑disciplinary Children’s Intensive Support Team. The role uses the Model of Human Occupation as a clinical model, follows a complex caseload and requires flexible working.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist OT assessment and intervention to children with autism and other complex needs.
- Work with families, schools, social care and other professionals.
- Collaborate with community and inpatient mental health services to prevent admission to tier 4 inpatient services.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner holding a clinical caseload and working without direct supervision.
- Deliver tailored assessments – functional, sensory and other relevant assessment techniques.
- Provide expert advice, signposting, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, clients, carers, relatives or other contacts.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Unrestricted registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
- Competence with clients with complex needs, communication issues and/or challenging behaviour.
- Experience of applying models of practice and frames of reference relevant to this post.
- Worked as part of an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team.
- Car owner / driver.
- Experience of sensory integration.
