Location:

Midlands area (Coventry and surrounding areas)
Salary: £14.00 per hour

Hours:

30–40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, flexible between 9am–5pm)

Job Purpose

As a Support Worker, you will deliver high standards of care and support to individuals in our shared supported living properties. You will promote independence, emotional well-being, and active participation in daily life, tailoring support to each service user's unique needs and aspirations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Build warm, trusting relationships that enhance self-esteem, happiness, and emotional health.

Respect privacy, dignity, and individuality at all times.

Encourage service users to express their needs, make choices, and participate in decision-making.

Support daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and household management.

Promote social inclusion, friendships, and community engagement.

Assist with health needs, appointments, nutrition, exercise, and well-being.

Support access to training, employment, and external services.

Contribute to person-centred support plans, daily logs, and communication tools.

Manage challenging behaviours using agreed strategies.

Handle personal finances, benefits, and tenancy responsibilities in line with policies.

Attend team meetings, training, and supervision.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, equality, confidentiality, and organisational policies.

Work flexibly to meet changing needs, including occasional evenings/weekends if required.

Essential Requirements

* Experience of working within a team as well as working independently (this can be from paid employment or voluntary work)

* Able to communicate effectively with people, including residents, their families, and colleagues

* Basic numeracy and literacy skills to enable competent and accurate recording and reporting, plus management of personal finances

* Willingness to support service users with domestic tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping

* Committed to the concept of supporting people – maximising employment, training, community, and leisure opportunities

* A flexible approach to working hours and locations – prepared to work some evenings and weekends

* Hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle

Desirable Requirements

* Diploma in Health & Social Care (NVQ Level
2) or a similar qualification (or willingness to complete within 18 months of appointment)

* Experience of supporting or caring for others, especially those with life-controlling issues
