Location: Exhall, Coventry
Package: Basic salary up to £39,000 (dependent on experience), plus bonus & flexible benefits package including up to 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays & additional annual leave purchasing scheme)
Hours: 40 per week (Monday-Friday)

The Logistics Manager roleAs our Logistics Manager, you will directly manage all logistics operations at the local Regional Distribution Centre, leading the team to ensure efficient stock handling, timely receipt, and prompt delivery to customers. Ensuring high customer service standards are maintained, meeting and exceeding their expectations and in turn, helping to contribute towards regional sales and profit targets being achieved whilst optimising logistics processes and driving operational efficiency.
Your remit will encompass staff management, operational planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration, a key role is played in achieving organisational goals and delivering value to customers and stakeholders, supporting sustainable growth in line with our company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a diverse team including Supervisors, Warehouse Operatives, and Drivers.
- Set clear targets and conduct regular performance assessments to ensure team effectiveness.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching opportunities to enhance team performance and individual growth.
- Contribute to developing and implementing the Central Logistics strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation.
- Oversee all logistics operations including material receipt, storage, and dispatch.
- Ensure efficient scheduling of deliveries, aiming for a 24/48‑hour service.
- Monitor logistics costs and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
- Optimise resource utilisation to enhance efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Assist the Regional Business Manager in implementing the Performance Improvement process.
- Ensure resources are available for stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with Sales to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance satisfaction and efficiency.
- Implement safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Take responsibility for warehouse and loading bay safety.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained, and legally compliant.
- Monitor vehicle condition and address issues to uphold safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to warehouse processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuously review and develop processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee maintenance of plant and equipment to support uninterrupted operations.
- Report building defects and coordinate repairs for a safe working environment.
- Work within ISO
9001 and ISO
14001 policies to maintain quality and environmental standards. - Adhere to company policies and guidelines in all aspects of work.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of full logistics management role (warehouse & driving)
- Effective leadership style with ability to coach, mentor, train & develop staff
- Experience of working within a fast‑paced sales distribution environment
- Experience of managing a logistics budget
