Class 2 Driver

Job Description

Major recruitment is currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join our well‑established client based in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well‑known company within the logistics and transportation industry.

• Temp to perm after completing probationary period
• Monday to Friday schedule
• Start time between 07:00 and 08:00
• Pay £16 per hour guaranteed for 8 hours per day
• Pay raises to £18.66 once permanent
• 8 to 14 drops/collections per day
• Weekly pay
• Immediate start
• Training provided
• Accrued holiday weekly while on agency

• Operating and driving Category C vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring timely, safe and professional deliveries to customer sites
• Knowledge of driving/working hours
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Keeping the truck and equipment clean and tidy

• Must have held a licence for a minimum of 12 months
• Must have a minimum of 12 months experience in HGV driving
• No more than 6 penalty points and no major endorsement codes
• Must be able to speak and read a certain level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time‑keeping skills
• Effective communication skills
• Flexibility and availability to work overtime as and when required
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Must be punctual and have good timekeeping
• Must be prepared to do nights out (up to 2 a week, £25 per night)

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
• Experience using a tail lift and electric pump truck

• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
