Night Care Assistant – 24 hours – Southway, Cowbridge

Position with Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Pay Details:

• Qualified to City and Guilds level 2 (Core and Practice) or equivalent:
  Grade 4 – £25,583 to £26,403 pro rata (£13.26 – £13.69 /hr).
• Unqualified/working toward City and Guilds level 2 (Core and Practice):
  Grade 3 – £25,185 pro rata (£13.05 /hr).

Hourly rate enhancements are paid for unsociable hours, weekends, and bank holidays (plus lieu day for bank holidays).

Times:

• Monday – Friday: 12 am – 6 am – Time + 1/3
• Monday – Friday: 6 am – 10 pm – Plain time, Time + 1/4, Time + 1/2
• Monday – Friday: 10 pm – 12 am – Time + 1/3, Time + 1/2, Time + 3/4
• Saturday: 12 am – 6 am – Time + 1/3
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: 12 am – 6 am – Time + 1/3

Hours of Work: 24 hours per week (1 vacancy).

Working pattern: 4‑week rota / Monday to Sunday.

Shift hours: 7 pm – 7 am.

Description:

To provide personal, physical & emotional care in a residential setting at night, for older people and older people who live with dementia.

This position does not offer visa sponsorship and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.

You will need:

• Experience of providing person‑centred personal care, support with acts of daily living and emotional support to vulnerable adults.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to participate in training and work toward a professional vocational qualification.
