HGV Driver - Public Sector

The Role

We are recruiting HGV Drivers on behalf of a public sector environmental services provider to support street cleansing, refuse, recycling, and associated frontline operations. This role is key to maintaining clean, safe, and well‑presented public spaces.

• Safely drive and operate allocated HGV vehicles on planned routes

• Transport crew members and equipment as required

• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks, defect reporting, and basic maintenance

• Support refuse collection, recycling, sweeping, bulky waste, and priority cleansing tasks

• Ensure the safety of colleagues, pedestrians, and road users at all times

• Complete required paperwork including mileage, fuel, and inspection records

• Valid HGV licence with CPC and digital tachograph

• Experience in waste, cleansing, or local authority environments desirable

• Strong awareness of health & safety and safe systems of work

• Flexible, reliable, and comfortable with outdoor operational work
