Provides support to category team and manages small‑scale projects (up to c.1.5m GBP spend) under supervision

Strategy:
Focus on execution of strategy
Suppliers:
Mostly focussed on Minor with some Major suppliers

• Day‑to‑day operational management of sub‑categories, related suppliers, and ERP systems
• Deliver cost reduction and sustainability projects with support from category team
• Market research on product trends, innovation, sustainability, pricing and legislative requirements
• Help mitigate supply risks and drive continuous improvement

• Day‑to‑day issue resolution
• Run small tenders or medium tenders with support from Category team
• Support sourcing of leverage and non‑critical supplies
• Ongoing analysis of category areas
• Part and supplier creation process
• Nav price list maintenance
• Negotiate terms with smaller suppliers and implement contracts in line with policy and processes (typically up to £1.5m annual spend) with support from line manager
• Assess new suppliers in line with processes to provide guidance for supplier approval
• Conduct supplier analysis to support various projects, including acquisitions

• Skills in the Google suite of applications and Microsoft Office packages
• Studying CIPS
• Years and type of Skills / Experience required: 2-4
• Good basic procurement knowledge
• Proven relationship building abilities
• Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good influencing and persuasion skills
