The Roster Team Manager will lead the delivery of rosters for UK rail activities, ensuring resources meet the train plan within legal and agreed terms and conditions, managing the rostering team at the Crewe depot and driving efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with members of the UK rail business to optimise operational plans, performance and strategic position.
- Manage the roster department, ensuring consistent delivery of rosters in line with relevant terms and conditions.
- Formulate depot‑base rosters and propose alterations to meet business needs.
- Drive a culture of excellence and accountability through efficiencies and performance improvement, creating best practice.
- Support strategic planning of traincrew resources, working with operations teams to ensure business needs are met.
- Focus on continuous improvement ensuring rosters meet agreed industry and internal fatigue standards.
- Financial focus through hour optimisation and ensuring efficiencies reduce expenditure.
- Identify and implement training, mentoring and competency assessment programmes to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Undertake regular audits and implement action plans to identify improvement areas and reduce risk.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently, keeping stakeholders updated with relevant information.
- Demonstrable experience in resource and change management.
- Demonstrable experience in a people management role.
